physical-layer that is the actual physical medium through which the data is transferred.
data link-layer that provides for data transfer across the physical link.

networking-layer that gives connectivity and path selection between two systems.

transport- layer that organizes, segments and reassembles data into the data stream.
applications-layer that establishes, manages, and ends connections between systems.
